Weatherization program that makes physical repairs to homes in order to make them more energy efficient, helping to lower energy bills and heating costs. Waiting period for approximately 18-24 months, from date of application. Elderly persons are given top priority, then handicapped individuals, households with children under the age of 5, and then all others. If NO heat source, name is moved to top of priority. Please request this service only as a last alternative reserve unless necessary.) Must verify need with income, energy bills and social security numbers for all members that live in home. Typical improvement measures include installing insulation, reducing air infiltration, performing tune-ups and repairs to existing heating and cooling systems, replacing appliances to improve efficiency and safety, and replacing incandescent lighting with compact fluorescent bulbs.
