Adult Protective Services investigates allegations of abuse and neglect for elderly, disabled and incapacitated adults. Also, they assist with appropriate housing, care arrangements, and in-home services for individuals in need.

Central West Virginia Aging Services Inc. is a home and community based services program designed to help elderly and disabled persons to stay in their own homes rather than going to a nursing home. Individuals 18 years of age and over and elderly individuals who are a resident of any West Virginia county, medically in need of nursing home care but wanting home care and meeting financial guidelines are eligible for services. A Case Manager is assigned to individuals to assess needs and broker all resources and services needed to fulfill needs. Medical equipment, indigent prescriptions, Veterans’ in-home services, Workers’ Compensation in-home service and older worker training program also available.

Fayette County Senior Program offers on-site meals, home delivered meals, respite care, health information, planned activities, shopping trips, and caregiver support groups. In addition, the Fayette County Senior Program provides counseling and financial aide to individuals needing assistance with medical and medication needs.

The retired and Senior Volunteer Program offers seniors, ages 55 and up, volunteer opportunities and volunteer recognition at various locations in Fayette and Greenbrier counties.
